He was fluent in six million forms of communication. From what we’ve heard so far about the reason behind it, C-3PO made a sacrifice of some kind. C-3PO was a golden protocol droid and the best friend of R2-D2. Stranded on an unknown planet with Resistance compatriots and a single First Order droid held prisoner, C-3PO watches his fellow droids die one by one as they traverse the planet in an effort to beam intelligence back to the Resistance. ![]() It’s pretty cool to hear that Abrams was open to make the changes to make his cast happy, especially when they have been playing the part for decades, but I can’t help but wonder why Daniels wasn’t in favor of the red arm. C-3PO doesn’t like the red arm! Being the director he said ‘You’re gonna have a red arm.’ But have you noticed, because he listened to me, that the last frame of C-3PO waving at the Millennium Falcon was with a gold arm!
